Hi, I’m Charlotte, and welcome to Etched by Charlotte!
I’m an artist and hand engraver based in Birmingham, creating one-of-a-kind engraved mirrors inspired by music, gaming, neo-traditional tattoo art, alternative culture and all things nostalgic.
Art has always been a huge part of my life. I achieved A* grades in both Art and Fine Art, and I also built a tattoo design portfolio, which continues to influence the bold linework and illustrative style you’ll see throughout my work today.
One of my favourite things is searching for quirky vintage frames and mirrors that deserve a second chance. I’ve always had an eye for unusual pieces with character, and I love transforming them into unique works of art that people can proudly display in their homes. Alongside vintage finds, I also create brand-new engraved mirrors, giving me the freedom to bring even more ideas to life.
Every design begins as a hand-drawn illustration before being carefully engraved by hand onto a mirror. I don’t use vinyl, laser engraving or mass production—every single piece is individually created with patience, care and attention to detail.
Many of my mirrors are one-of-a-kind, meaning once they’re’ve sold, they’re gone. I also love creating designs inspired by bands, video games, western artwork, tattoo art and other themes that people are passionate about. If there’s something you’d love to see, I’m always looking for inspiration for future collections.
